Pat's Rubber Legs in Olive/Brown is the natural, imitative colorway of one of Colorado's most productive stonefly nymph patterns. While the black version excels as a high-contrast attractor, the olive/brown version closely matches the actual coloration of golden stonefly and brown stonefly nymphs — the large, meaty insects that trout actively hunt in the rocky riffles and runs of the Roaring Fork, Frying Pan, and Colorado River. When fish are keyed on naturals and the black version isn't getting the same response, this is the color to reach for.

The rubber legs pulse and kick with every micro-current, creating a lifelike action that triggers aggressive strikes from trout holding in deep runs, pocket water, and the heads of pools. This is a heavy, fast-sinking pattern designed to get to the bottom quickly and stay there — right in the strike zone where big trout feed on stonefly nymphs throughout the year. How to Fish It

Dead-drift under an indicator or on a tight line through deep runs, pocket water, and the heads of pools where stonefly nymphs are most active. The #6 or #8 is ideal for fast, deep water where you need maximum weight to get to the bottom; drop to the #10 or #12 in shallower runs and riffles. Pairs exceptionally well with a smaller nymph or midge as a dropper in a two-fly rig — the Pat's Rubberlegs anchors the rig and gets both flies to depth.
