Nosler Ballistic Tip 6.5 PRC 140gr Hunting Ammo (20ct)

Nosler Ballistic Tip® ammunition in 6.5 PRC loads a 140-grain Spitzer Ballistic Tip® hunting bullet into Nosler® Premium Brass. Nosler’s factory page for manufacturer SKU 43457 lists a 20-round box, muzzle velocity of 2,900 fps, and muzzle energy of 2,614 ft-lbs. Nosler categorizes this cartridge’s ammunition use as elk/moose-sized game, while the Ballistic Tip hunting line is optimized for maximum effectiveness on deer, antelope, and hogs. Country of manufacture: United States. Lead-free: No. UPC commonly listed as 054041434577.

The Ballistic Tip® hunting bullet uses a polymer tip for a streamlined profile and reliable initiation of expansion, a boat-tail base for downrange accuracy, and a heavily jacketed base that supports a large-diameter mushroom. That combination is why hunters choose this load when they want flat trajectories from the 6.5 Precision Rifle Cartridge without stepping into custom handloads. Nosler publishes a full ballistic table for this SKU: at 200 yards velocity is 2,536 fps / 1,999 ft-lbs; at 300 yards 2,365 fps / 1,738 ft-lbs; at 400 yards 2,200 fps / 1,504 ft-lbs (manufacturer data).

Trajectory (manufacturer, inches): with a 100-yard zero, drop is about −3.2″ at 200, −11.9″ at 300, −26.7″ at 400, and −48.8″ at 500 yards. With a 200-yard zero, drop is about −7.0″ at 300 and −20.3″ at 400 yards. Nosler load-data materials list the 140gr Ballistic Tip Spitzer G1 BC at approximately 0.509 with sectional density 0.287—useful numbers for ballistic apps when you zero for Colorado deer and elk country.

Use cases: Western big-game hunts where 6.5 PRC rifles are chambered for longer shots across canyons and basins; sight-in and practice with the same factory load you will carry in the field; reloaders who value Nosler brass after the hunt. Prop 65 warning and shipping restrictions apply per Nosler.
