The Lunker City Fin-S Fish 5” is a highly regarded mid-size option in the original fork-tail minnow series — it bridges the gap between the smaller finesse sizes (2.5"/3.5") and the larger trophy versions (7"/10"). It features the same classic slim, flat-sided, deep-bellied profile with the signature split/forked V-tail that provides subtle quivering, darting glides, and natural vibration on the fall, jerk, twitch, or slow retrieve.

Key Features of the 5" Size

  • Length: 5 inches (about 127mm) — a versatile all-around size for many scenarios.
  • Weight: Approximately 0.3–0.4 oz (8–11g) — light enough for finesse work but casts well and sinks at a good rate for mid-depth presentations.
  • Design: Pronounced belly hump for a realistic baitfish look, flat sides for excellent side-to-side action, and the iconic forked tail that moves lifelike with minimal rod input.
  • Best Uses: Texas rigging (weighted or weightless), drop-shot, Carolina rig, shaky head, jigging (1/8–3/8 oz heads), slow-rolling, or finesse presentations. Extremely effective on largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, walleye, pike, striped bass, and other predators — shines in clear water, pressured situations, around structure, or when fish are keying on slightly larger baitfish profiles.
  • Rigging Tips: Use offset EWG hooks (4/0–5/0 for Texas rig), medium jig heads, or screw-in weights for weedless setups. It pairs well with drop-shot or Carolina rigs for bottom contact or suspended fish.
  • Colors: Wide range including Alewife, Arkansas Shiner, Albino Shad, Bubblegum Shad, Bubblegum Ice, Pro Blue Shad, Rainbow Trout, and many high-flash or natural patterns.
  • Pack: Typically 8 per bag (sometimes 6–10 depending on retailer), durable with the original scent/attractant formula.

This size is often called a "sweet spot" by anglers — enough profile to stand out over smaller baits, but still subtle enough for tough bites.
