Lightfield Home Defender HV Star 12 Ga 2 3/4 in

The Lightfield Home Defender HV Star is a specialty 12-gauge, 2¾-inch less-lethal style shell designed for close-range defensive use. It launches a large, flexible 75-grain rubber star projectile (approximately 1.25 inches in diameter) at roughly 850 feet per second, delivering about 120 foot-pounds of energy. The star is engineered to collapse on impact and spread its energy across a broader surface area than traditional projectiles, reducing the risk of over-penetration through walls or barriers.

Intended for distances of roughly 15 yards or less, the load sheds most of its effective energy beyond that range. It can serve as a painful deterrent or warning option, though Lightfield notes it remains capable of causing serious injury or death depending on distance, shot placement, clothing, and other factors. Not recommended for full-choke barrels.

Available in 5-round boxes, the HV Star offers homeowners and shooters an alternative to conventional lead or copper projectiles for close-quarters scenarios. Always treat every round as potentially lethal, verify local laws, and follow safe firearm handling practices.
