A Euro Nymphing Staple with a UV Hot Spot Trigger
The Jiggy UV Frenchie TB is a tungsten bead jigged version of the Frenchie — one of the most popular and productive euro nymphing patterns of the past decade. Developed as a hot-spot variation of the classic Pheasant Tail nymph, the Frenchie combines a slim, natural pheasant tail body with a UV-reactive fluorescent collar that acts as a trigger point, drawing the trout's eye and provoking strikes even from fish that are being selective. The UV hot spot is especially effective in off-color water, low-light conditions, and on heavily pressured tailwaters where trout have seen every natural imitation in the box.
The tungsten jig bead gets this fly to depth fast, and the jig hook rides point-up through the drift for fewer snags and better hookup rates. Available in #16 and #18 to cover the core Baetis and mayfly nymph size range on the Roaring Fork, Frying Pan, and Colorado River. This is a must-have pattern for any euro nymphing or tight-line setup on Colorado's Western Slope rivers.

- Works year-round; especially effective during Baetis hatches and in off-color water
How to Fish It
Dead-drift on a tight line or under an indicator at depth through seams, runs, and feeding lanes. The UV hot spot is most effective in off-color water and low-light conditions when trout are responding to color triggers rather than exact imitation. Fish the #16 in faster, deeper water; drop to the #18 in slower, clearer conditions. Pairs exceptionally well with a Zebra Midge, RS2, or Walt's Worm as a dropper in a two-fly euro nymph rig.
