The Walt's Worm in Tan — A Natural Match for Colorado's Aquatic Worms
The Jiggy Sexy Walt's Worm TB in Tan is a tungsten bead jigged aquatic worm imitation in a warm tan colorway that closely matches the natural color of many aquatic worms, annelids, and San Juan Worm-style food sources found in Colorado's rivers. Where the grey version excels in off-color and post-rain conditions, the tan version shines in clear water and normal flows — it's a more imitative, natural-looking match that selective trout eat with confidence.
Aquatic worms are a year-round food source that trout feed on opportunistically, and a well-presented worm pattern will often produce fish when more technical patterns are getting refused. The tungsten jig bead gets this fly to depth fast, and the jig hook rides point-up through the drift for fewer snags and better hookup rates. Available in three sizes — #14, #16, and #18 — to cover a wide range of worm sizes and water conditions on the Roaring Fork, Frying Pan, and Colorado River.

How to Fish It
Dead-drift on a tight line or under an indicator at depth through runs, pools, and along the bottom where worms concentrate. The #14 is a good all-around size in faster water; drop to the #16 or #18 in slower, clearer conditions when trout are being selective. Pairs well with a small nymph or midge as a dropper in a two-fly rig, or fish it as a single fly on a tight line through deep, slow pools. Also productive after rain events when natural worms are being washed into the river.
