A Sleek, Fast-Sinking Jig Nymph for Technical Trout
The Jiggy Iron Lotus TB is a slim, tungsten bead jigged nymph designed to cut through the current and reach depth quickly — exactly what you need when trout are holding tight to the bottom in fast runs and deep tailwater pools. The Iron Lotus profile is clean and sparse, imitating a wide range of small mayfly and midge nymphs that make up the bulk of a trout's diet on Colorado's technical rivers.
On the Frying Pan, Roaring Fork, and Colorado River, trout see a lot of flies. The Iron Lotus's slim, low-profile design doesn't spook selective fish the way bulkier patterns can — it just looks like food. The tungsten jig bead gets it to the strike zone fast, and the jig hook rides point-up through the drift for fewer snags and better hookup rates. A must-have for euro nymphing and tight-line anglers targeting technical tailwater trout.

How to Fish It
Euro nymph or tight-line on a short leader for maximum depth and contact. Dead-drift through seams, runs, and deep pools, maintaining direct contact throughout the drift. Fish the #14 in faster, deeper water; drop to the #20 on the Frying Pan's technical tailwater or any time trout are keyed on tiny naturals. Pairs well with a Zebra Midge or RS2 as a dropper in a two-fly rig.
