The Callibaetis Cripple imitates a Callibaetis mayfly stuck in its shuck and unable to fully emerge — a vulnerable, easy meal that selective trout target during the hatch. Its low-riding, half-emerged profile is often the most effective presentation on Colorado's stillwaters and slow tailwater pools when fish are keying on cripples.
