The Chubby Chernobyl in Black/Purple is one of the most versatile and productive attractor dry flies in the box — a large foam terrestrial pattern that imitates stoneflies, hoppers, and other big surface food that trout can’t resist. The buoyant foam body rides high in the water, making it an excellent indicator fly in a dry-dropper rig with a nymph trailing below. Fish it through riffles, along grassy banks, and in the seams of runs on the Roaring Fork, Frying Pan, and Colorado River throughout the summer and fall terrestrial season.
