Quick-Seine

Quick-Seine from Anglers Accessories

Take a closer look at the aquatic insects in the water you’re fishing with the Quick-Seine from Anglers Accessories. A stream seine is a useful sampling tool for fly anglers who want to observe local insect life before choosing a fly pattern.

On the Roaring Fork, Frying Pan, or Colorado River, paying attention to what’s in the water adds another layer to your fly selection. Examining a sample can help you compare the size, shape, and color of aquatic insects with the patterns in your fly box instead of relying on guesswork alone.

What is a stream seine used for?

A stream seine is used to sample aquatic insects and other small organisms in moving water. Fly anglers examine those samples to learn about potential trout food and inform their choice of flies. A sample is a snapshot of the location and conditions, not a guarantee of what fish are feeding on.

Why include a seine in your fly-fishing kit?

• Observe aquatic insects where you’re fishing.
• Compare natural insect size and appearance with your fly patterns.
• Build your understanding of stream life and fly selection.
• Add a dedicated sampling accessory to your fishing equipment.

Observe first, then choose your fly

Use your observations alongside visible rises, water conditions, and other clues when selecting a presentation. Follow the instructions supplied with the Quick-Seine for setup and use, and check its compatibility with your equipment before heading out. Minimize disturbance to the streambed and return sampled organisms promptly.

Whether you’re learning to identify aquatic insects or refining your approach to familiar Colorado trout water, the Quick-Seine offers a practical way to make stream observation part of your fishing routine.
