Over winter we now offer ice fishing trips on several local reservoirs. Ruedi reservoir, Rifle Gap and Harvey Gap. These waters are loaded with a multitude of species including Lake Trout, Rainbow Trout, Brown Trout, Pike, Tiger Musky, Walleye and Perch. Our guides have all the gear and expertise to show you a great time on the ice.
We now offer fully guided fishing trips on Ruedi Reservoir, Harvey and Rifle Gaps. Ruedi Reservoir is a high-elevation impoundment that is over 1,000-acres of fish catching paradise. It is located just above the Frying Pan River in the heart of the White River National Forest, which provides some of the most incredible scenery Colorado has to offer.
It's deep, clear, and cold waters are the perfect habitat for Lake Trout, which have been self-sustaining in the lake for years. We use a combination of trolling and jigging techniques to get at these deep dwellers. April through June offers the best chance at trophies; fish between 15-30lbs are not uncommon. September-November offers the best chance at numbers, with 40 fish days not uncommon.
There are also great populations of Rainbow Trout, Brown Trout, Kokanee Salmon and Perch. As one of the only fly shops in the Roaring Fork Valley with access to Ruedi it is an untapped resource with big fish potential! We will be fishing out of a brand new Tracker Pro Guide 175 equipped with the latest in marine electronics and fishing gear. Plenty of room for up to 3 clients. The boat is loaded with absolutely everything we need to target fish whether casting, trolling, jigging, or fly-fishing.
Harvey Gap is an excellent local water which have great populations of trout, tiger muskie, pike, bass perch and crappie. Rifle has rainbow and German brown trout, walleye, pike, smallmouth and largemouth bass and yellow perch
