A guided float trip is an ideal way of accessing a lot of river which is unavailable to wade fishermen, as well as enjoying the beautiful scenery we have to offer. We have at least 60 miles of great rivers we can float in our area.
It is also an ideal way to enjoy the river with your partner if only one of you fishes. One fishes while the other can take along a book and a camera, a sun hat and sun-block and enjoy the view.
We generally float the Roaring Fork and the Colorado rivers. The lower later season flows reduce opportunities to float higher up the Fork but the lower Fork and the Colorado offer year round floating opportunities.
You can float in either a raft or a drift boat. The raft allows for access to shallower water therefore we use rafts higher up the Fork. Lower down both rafts and drift boats work perfectly.
Floating is both for the novice and the experienced fisherman. If you have not floated before let the guide know before you set out on your trip as it may affect where the guide takes you to give you the best experience.
When you float, you can wear waders so that you can stop and wade if the opportunity presents itself. However, particularly in summer when it gets hot, you may prefer shorts or lightweight gear with sandals or other light footwear which will facilitate wading but at the same time keep you cool. You will discuss this with your guide.
Our goal is to ensure that whatever your requirements we aim to give you the best day out.
