Collection: Tasmanian Devils 20gr Dual Depth

The 20g Tasmanian Devil (commonly known as the "Dual Depth" or "Deep Diver" variant in Wigston's Lures lineup from Tasmania, Australia) is the heavier mid-to-large size in the iconic series, weighing 20 grams (approximately 11/16 oz or 0.7 oz). At around 55mm (about 2.2 inches) in length, it's noticeably larger and denser than the 13.5g model.

Its core design mirrors the series: a hollow, weighted torpedo-shaped lead core encased in durable plastic with curved "diamond" wings that produce the signature erratic, side-to-side darting, rocking, diving, and pulsating action—imitating a distressed or fleeing baitfish. This creates a visible "nodding" at the rod tip to confirm proper retrieve/troll speed, with no line twist. The line-through rigging (run line through the lure, add bead, tie hook) lets the body slide forward during fights, reducing leverage so fish struggle to throw the hook.

A key distinction is its dual tow points (or depth options in many versions), allowing anglers to rig for shallow or deeper trolling—ideal for reaching fish holding lower in the water column without needing downriggers. It sinks faster and holds depth better, making it excellent for trolling (typically 4–6 km/h or 2.5–3.5 mph), casting in windy conditions or deeper water, jigging, or downrigging in freshwater and light saltwater.

It targets larger predatory species like brown trout, rainbow trout, salmon, steelhead, bass, pike, walleye, and similar gamefish—especially effective in lakes, rivers, or when fish are deeper or in low-light conditions.

Built tough with high-quality hooks (often VMC trebles or singles), it's available in dozens of eye-catching colors/patterns (e.g., Fire Tiger, Rainbow Trout, Predator, Clown, UV finishes). Anglers value it as a reliable, versatile workhorse—affordable, easy to fish, and proven worldwide for boosting catch rates in varied scenarios.
