Collection: Artificial and Live Bait

Live bait
  • What it is: Actual living organisms, such as worms, insects, crustaceans, or smaller fish.
  • How it works: It attracts fish through its natural scent, taste, and movement.
  • Pros: Often highly effective because it is a natural food source that fish readily recognize, making it easier for beginners to get bites.
  • Cons: Can be challenging to keep alive and requires proper storage and transport, making it less convenient than artificial lures.
Artificial bait (lures)
  • What it is: Manufactured imitations of prey, including soft plastics, spinners, jigs, and plugs.
  • How it works: Lures trigger a fish's predatory instinct through visual cues, such as color and shape, and action in the water, like flashing or vibration.
  • Pros: Reusable, durable, and easy to transport. They can be used to cover more water quickly and offer a wide variety of options to match different fishing conditions.
  • Cons: Less realistic than live bait, so their effectiveness can depend more on the angler's skill in choosing the right lure and technique.
