Lower Roaring Fork Report — August 1, 2026
Share
Status as of August 1, 2026: The Lower Roaring Fork is under a voluntary afternoon closure. Warm water temperatures continue to stress the fishery. Please respect the closure and fish mornings only until conditions improve.
The good news: increased releases from Ruedi Reservoir should bring higher flows and cooler water in the near future. Those changes should improve trout health, spread fish out, and bring back more consistent fishing opportunities as conditions stabilize.
