Fryingpan River Fishing Report — August 8, 2026

The big news around the Roaring Fork Valley right now is the Fryingpan River is coming up significantly, with flows expected to reach around 500 CFS by the end of Monday.

That kind of increase is going to change the river quite a bit, so we’re expecting things to take a little time to settle out. The Fryingpan has been fishing really well, but with this much additional water coming through, we’ll want to see how the fish respond before making any big predictions.

One of the biggest potential benefits of the increased flows is the amount of cold water pushing into the Roaring Fork. That could have a major impact on conditions downstream and potentially help extend our fishing opportunities later into the day.

With colder nights also starting to trend through the valley, we’re keeping a close eye on water temperatures and how the entire system responds.
