Frying Pan River Fishing Report – September 14, 2026

The Frying Pan River is currently one of the better fishing options in the Roaring Fork Valley. Flows have come down significantly and are sitting around 70 CFS, but the lower water has not stopped the fishing from being productive.

In fact, dry-fly fishing has been really good. There are plenty of opportunities to find fish looking up, especially if you’re willing to slow down and pay attention to what is happening on the water. Nymphing has been a little more inconsistent, but it is still producing fish.

With flows this low, presentation becomes even more important. The fish have less water to spread out in, and they can be more aware of anglers. Longer leaders, lighter tippet and a careful approach can make a big difference.

Right now, the Frying Pan is definitely worth having on your list if you’re looking to get out and fish in the Roaring Fork Valley.
