As of September 28, 2026, the Colorado River near Glenwood Springs, Colorado is open for fishing but still muddy and unfishable. Until it clears, we recommend the Fryingpan River or the Roaring Fork River.
Current Colorado River Conditions
The Colorado River is open for fishing, but conditions are still keeping us off the water. The river has stayed muddy and unfishable, so we haven't been getting out there to fish it. The river is technically open, but water conditions are still the limiting factor right now.
We're keeping an eye on things and hoping the river continues to clear. Once conditions improve, we'll be back out there and updating you on what's happening.
